What is Wu-Weism?

Wu-Weism is a research workbench for rigorous causal reasoning. It automates the full Pearl causal ladder — the three-rung framework that distinguishes what you observe, what you can change, and what would have happened under different conditions. Most AI tools treat correlation as causation. Wu-Weism does not. Every response is grounded in an explicit Structural Causal Model (SCM), every claim is logged with provenance, and every inference must pass a falsifiability check before it reaches you.
Wu-Weism requires an AI provider API key (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Gemini) to run analyses. You add your key in Model Settings after signing in — Wu-Weism never stores your keys server-side.

Who it’s for

Wu-Weism is built for practitioners who need causal conclusions they can defend:
  • Researchers and scientists who need to move beyond correlation and report intervention effects or counterfactual estimates with traceable justification.
  • Data scientists and analysts who want to frame observational data inside an explicit causal graph before making recommendations.
  • Legal professionals who need causation analysis that meets epistemological standards — but-for tests, proximate cause chains, and multi-factor reasoning.

Key capabilities

Wu-Weism exposes five purpose-built surfaces, all sharing the same SCM engine and provenance trail.
SurfacePathWhat it does
Causal Workbench/chatStructured causal dialogue with intervention framing. Every exchange moves up Pearl’s ladder — from observation through intervention to counterfactual.
Hybrid Synthesis/hybridReconcile conflicting claims across a literature corpus. Hong-inspired recombination surfaces genuine novelty where consensus fails.
Legal Causation/legalApply but-for and proximate cause frameworks to complex multi-factor causal chains at legal epistemological standards.
Epistemic Dashboard/epistemicMonitor the epistemic state of your research session — confidence scores, uncertainty labels, and open contradictions.
PDF Scientific Analysis/pdf-synthesisUpload scientific PDFs and extract, classify, and causally situate claims from the source literature.

Causal Workbench

Structured causal dialogue grounded in SCMs with real intervention framing.

Hybrid Synthesis

Surface genuine novelty by reconciling conflicting claims across your literature.

Legal Causation

Causation analysis that meets legal epistemological standards.

The five pillars

Every analysis Wu-Weism produces rests on five architectural commitments.

Causal SCM

Wu-Weism builds a Structural Causal Model for every research domain it encounters. The SCM makes every inference explicit: which variables are in scope, which edges connect them, and which mechanisms govern those relationships. You are never reasoning from a black box.

Contradiction Engine

Competing explanations are forced into direct conflict. The Contradiction Engine runs candidate mechanisms against each other until only those that survive adversarial pressure remain. You see which claims survived and which were eliminated — and why.

Sovereign Memory

Every validated trace and every rejected path is committed to auditable memory without severing provenance. You can reconstruct the reasoning chain behind any conclusion at any point in your session or after the fact.

Multi-Agent Critique

Before a causal claim reaches you, it is stress-tested by adversarial specialist agents. Methods are challenged, assumptions are probed, and causal conclusions are reviewed for logical consistency. What you receive has already survived internal peer review.

Falsifiability Gate

A claim that cannot specify what evidence would disconfirm it is not a scientific claim. The Falsifiability Gate blocks such claims before they enter memory or reach action. Every claim Wu-Weism records includes the conditions under which it would be wrong.
